Today the phone rang frantically. My stomach sunk and my heart grew heavy as a rock. The is call from a distraught
mother who has managed to leave her abuser. He is now
holding the children hostage in an effort to force her to return. God please don't send us an Angel. All
I can do is pray for all of those who have, are and will share her experience.
Another of my girls, unable to procure employment has returned to her abuser. Since her
return she has had a concussion. I told her my door is open. But leaving must be the individuals’ choice.
Once they leave, if they return the abuse usually rises to a new higher level.
Over a year ago we placed our first abuse victim in her own home. This woman is permanently physically and
possibly mentally disabled as a result of her experience. My experience and research is teaching that the legal
system is a large contributor to this cycle. As I seek understanding which will provide solutions it
is necessary to focus not only on the victims as well as the perpetrators.Why does evoking the law into protection have to be so prohibitive?For many of these girls the
fees involved for a custody suit, divorce and life long fight is more than is available
